Nothing is Without Purpose
Nothing God asks of us is without purpose. No matter the path, no matter the sacrifice, no matter the risks involved to us personally a heart that responds with "NEVERTHELESS" is the heart God is looking for.
Proverbs 19:21 tells us that many are the plans in a man's heart but nevertheless it is the counsel of the Lord that stands, the purposes of the Lord that will stand.
I want to encourage you this morning to remain yielded to the purposes God is calling you to, remain yielded with a resounding "nevertheless" coming from your heart and your mind and your actions.
"Nevertheless" yields a blessing, "nevertheless" yields a harvest for the Kingdom of God, there are souls waiting on your "nevertheless."
I was quickened in prayer this morning to when the young girl Mary was being told by the angel Gabriel that there was a great purpose God was calling her to and requiring of her. She didn't understand how anything Gabriel was saying could possible be and that is how she responded in Luke 1:34 "how can this be, since I not known a man?" I love that the scripture shows this is how Mary responded, just like we would, questioning the how! Basically, she was saying "I don't get it. Don't you realize I'm still a virgin. I'm not a married woman. I have no husband."
The awesome thing??? Gabriel explained how this would take place. Mary questioned the how and God showed her through Gabriel how but yet Gabriel knew it still seemed impossible to Mary, that she would not be able to comprehend what would take place so he added in v.37 "For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment."
I love Mary's response now in v.38 "let it be done to me according to what you have said, and the angel left her."
Mary knew in this moment it would cost her and cost her greatly. Mary's "nevertheless" would cost her the risk of losing everything. Her reputation, the very man she was engaged to be married to and even things to come that she didn't realize she would walk through but regardless she yielded in great faith and great trust.
Even Jesus himself was required to respond with a heart that said "I don't get it, I don't want to do this, if you can get me out of this that would be great but your will must come before my concerns so yes, "nevertheless" I will do what you need me to do Father God (paraphrasing Luke 22:42)
Every nevertheless opens a door we haven't stepped through yet.
Every nevertheless carries a new level of favor we haven't experienced yet.
Every nevertheless brings a harvest we haven't seen yet.
Every nevertheless demands a new level of faith.
Every nevertheless demands a greater level of trust.
Every nevertheless requires us to go deeper into the Garden of the Lord.
God is saying this morning "You think last season took a greater demand of faith than you thought possible? It was only preparation for the faith necessary in you for this season you are now stepping into. NOTHING IS EVER ASKED OF YOU WITHOUT PURPOSE. I am looking for the heart that is positioned and anchored in 'nevertheless' regardless of, in spite of and even still, you choose to say 'yes Lord' to my call and my purpose for you."
