I CAN DO IT!

The Lord is desiring to remind us today that He can do it, He will do it and He is actually now doing it. When we are unable to make something happen, when we are unable to produce something, when we are unable to "fix" something or cause something to be birthed is when we are the most vulnerable and at the same time the most open for God to move in our lives.

Ephesians 3:20 tells us "NOW glory be to God, who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do FAR more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of -- infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes." (emphasis added is mine)

How exciting when we break that down and at the same time take Ephesians 3:20 at face value. God can do what we need Him to do, He is willing to do what we need Him to do and He is MORE THAN ABLE to do what we need Him to do.

This is where we must place our trust and hope! That God is able to do FAR MORE abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, pray for the "MORE" and watch God move in the "MORE."

Our portion (and here lies the resistance) is to trust these very things...
  • That God can...
  • That God desires to...
  • That God sees us...
  • That our prayers cause God to move
  • That doubt truly can hinder God
  • That we simply MUST believe
ABSOLUTELY nothing is too difficult for God! I love when the same thing can be found in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. In Gen 18:14 God, in response to Sarah's laughter, asks "is anything too difficult for the Lord?"

Then Jesus asks basically the same thing in Mark 9:22,23 saying to the man with the possessed son "[you say to Me] 'If you can do anything?' Why ALL things can be (are possible) to him who believes!"

IF WE CAN BELIEVE ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THEN ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!

We believe this, we stand by the word of the Lord petitioning the very throne of God daily, daily and then daily again remembering the word also tells us in James 4:2,3 "you have not because you ask not."

Persistent prayer is a necessity to see what we're desiring to come forth to come forth. We intercede, we believe and then we rest when things look impossible.

I'm going to close out this blog with this...in Acts 12 things looked pretty bad for Peter, he was locked up, shored up pretty securely with no physical means of escape. He, however, had a group of people that as v.5 says  persistently made fervent prayer to God on Peter's behalf. Our prayers matter!!! Our persistent, fervent prayers can bring forth someone else's release from dire, extreme circumstances. An angel in response to the prayers going forth on Peter's behalf shows up in the place Peter was and simply causes the chains to break off and escorts Peter to freedom and safety.

What exactly is it that God cannot do if the word says these things?
  • "Is anything too difficult for me?"
  • "You ask if I can do anything? I say 'I can do all things for those one who believes.'"
  • "...is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask..."
  • "You have not because you ask not."
Let's stand and see the goodness of the Lord manifested in our lives and the lives of those around us because we did not doubt, we were fervent in our intercession causing angels to be released to cause to happen what we could never do on our own!!!

For some reason God has highlighted different months to me in different years. What is a Good Marriage?

What's a good marriage? How would you define it in your mind? Is it a spouse that makes you "happy." What is making you happy? Is it meeting your every desire and whim? Is that a good spouse? I beg to differ. I believe a good spouse is one that, yes, knows your desires, knows your likes, knows your wants and from time to time randomly surprises you with such. I see (mostly wives) post that they have the "best" husband in the WHOLE world. Really?? That's a pretty big role to fill and yet an expectation that especially young brides place on their husbands. This statement is usually made after their husband has "made them happy" about something. I don't believe there is any "best in the whole world" husband out there. I believe he or she is the best for YOU even in the most when he or she is not giving into your tantrums and/or hissy fits. A good spouse challenges us in our weak areas. God’s Righteousness vs. Our Inability

Jesus covers us BUT He doesn’t excuse us. We have all sinned, yes, we have all fallen short, yes. (Romans 3:23) We’ve seen the pictures of Jesus being the bridge connecting our inability to God’s righteousness making us the righteousness of God. Jesus covered us so we CAN become the righteousness of God by remaining IN HIM. (2 Cor. 5:19) Does Jesus covering us say go do what you want, be what you want with no regard as long as you have accepted Jesus into your heart you’re good, He has you covered? If the answer is yes then we’re saying repentance, surrender and obedience aren’t required when we know biblically they are.  Philippians 2:12 tells us it’s important to continue in obedience AND to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. And, of course there’s Romans 6:15 that asks a question and answers it for us...If God’s grace covers us can we continue in sin and then answers with a certainly not.
