About That Draft, Though
I love this picture! Tom Brady shared this on Instagram. Never forget he was picked in the 6th round. People are talking about who was picked in the first round, who wasn't picked in the first round like that is going to make or break the player in their career.
All the analyzing, all the statistics, all the assumptions can never override someone's heart. Tom Brady was selected with pick #199 overall. How many people that had overlooked him look back now and can't believe what they missed. The real question is has it changed how they see new prospects?
As for us, people will overlook us, we're not what they're looking for, we don't fit their "requirements" but it doesn't matter when we get picked, what matters is that we are ready when our name is called up by God Himself.
Other people may not see the potential in you but God will cause the right one in the right moment to see exactly what you carry. There will be one that says "I see it, I see what's in you and God has sent me to help you shift from being overlooked to being everything God has called you to be and I will "coach" you and prepare you for the greatness I know is in you. This one will be equipped to help you not just in words but in action also.
We have seen in the draft over the years, great top prospects go to teams that lack in coaching and the player never reaches that potential again that they once had in college. Then we see good players that many teams over look go to a team with solid coaching and the player is prepared, challenged and trained for the competition before them and rises to greatness.
For us, it matters who we allow to speak into our lives, who we allowed to mentor us and our own actions of being prepared, being trained and being ready because when God says, nothing can stop us if we have allowed ourselves to be processed and prepared.
I share this picture of Brady, but Julian Edelman, drafted in the 7th round, from a DII school, greatest catch ever in a superbowl. Even Gronkowski was a 2nd rounder, the 42nd pick in the 2nd round. All great, great players overlooked by so many but yet positioned in the right place at the right time to reach their fullest potential of champions!
